What this app does

Putt Break is an iOS app that uses the LiDAR sensor and camera on supported iPhone Pro devices to measure the slope of the ground. It is intended as a learning aid for golfers and runs entirely on your device.

What we collect

Nothing. Putt Break does not collect personal data, usage data, or analytics. We do not operate a user database and do not know who you are, where you are, or how often you use the app.

What stays on your device

  • Camera and LiDAR data is used in real time to calculate slope readings. It is not recorded, saved, or transmitted and is discarded when you close the app.
  • Slope readings are calculated and displayed in real time. They are not stored unless you choose to save them as photos.
  • Captured photos are saved to your Photos library only when you tap the shutter. Putt Break cannot access them after saving.
  • App settings, such as unit preferences and tutorial state, are stored locally in iOS UserDefaults and are never transmitted.

Permissions we request

Camera: Required. Putt Break depends on the camera feed and LiDAR sensor for slope measurement.

Photos (Add Only): Optional. Requested when you first use the shutter button and used only to save a captured reading. The app cannot read other photos.

Third parties

Putt Break does not integrate with third-party analytics, advertising networks, social media SDKs, or cloud services.

Apple provides the iOS frameworks used by the app, including ARKit, RealityKit, and Photos. Apple's data practices are governed by its own privacy policy.

Children's privacy

Putt Break is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone of any age because we do not collect data.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date above will be revised. Significant changes will be announced through the app's release notes.
